Hey people, here’s the super green update by the Guardian: Lego ends Shell partnership following Greenpeace campaign
We love LEGO. You love LEGO. Everyone loves LEGO. Greenpeace loves LEGO.
BUT:
If you believe that every company has a responsibility to choose its partners and suppliers ethically, watch this short video by Greenpeace aiming to destroy a partnership between Lego & Shell. Full of drama, and realism to be honest, this masterpiece exposes the volume of the oil drilling disaster!
The video called “Everything Is NOT Awesome” aimed at further illustrating the reasons the toy company should sever its ties with Shell, which Greenpeace contends is putting the delicate Arctic marine environment at risk through oil drilling. The video, made by BAFTA-winning creative agency Don’t Panic, begins by revealing a magical and playful Arctic wonderland made of LEGO. But as the scene pans out, it’s revealed that Shell has moved in to drill – and things have gone wrong. An evocative cover version of The LEGO Movie theme song, ‘Everything Is Awesome,’ accompanies the destruction.
