We are confident that many of you fellow Hypsterians living in Thessaloniki have heard about this relatively new addition to the culinary scene of the city that serves all kinds of Feta cheese. You’ve probably swung by on a Saturday afternoon only to find out the place was packed and we can definitely understand why that is. But what is all this Feta craze about? Feta Bar or “Mia Feta” (meaning “one feta”) is more of a Dairy shop or a “Dairy temple”, to be more precise. The owners embrace the “Taste & Shop!” philosophy, highly trending in the city of Thessaloniki nowadays as many delicatessen spots have conquered the city center. The idea behind this modern experiment, a project run by the Kourellas family from the little quaint city of Grevena in Western Greece, lies in gathering the best dairy products of the country along with other selected exclusively Greek foods in one…bar!
All the fresh traditional staples displayed on Mia Feta’s shelves also feature in their menu while the unique dairy & nuts mingling they choose to serve truly stands out and is worth trying. All products served are combined in harmony through a carefully planned, inspired menu. By reviving forgotten traditional flavors they try to keep exquisite flavors alive and accommodate them in the modern way of life, daily street food.
// Take them with you //
Organic fresh milk from their own farm, organic strained and traditional yogurt, feta cheese of course and a complete range of Greek and innovative dairy products, fill their fridges on a daily basis! Take with you some of the internationally recognized feta, moschotyri cheese, smoked feta, Grilleat, Bakeat and the recently awarded feta cheese with real black wild truffle from the area of Grevena.
// Eat on the spot //
“Handmade pies with selected organic flour, egg bread, omelets, rice pudding, cream pie, sandwiches become an ideal breakfast along with organic fresh milk, organic fresh chocolate milk, freshly squeezed juices and fermented milk!” they say. We tried almost everything on offer and all we can say is kudos to the owners for creating such a modern space to present their innovative concept featuring healthy and fresh products.
// Street Food //
Feta bar would only be in full swing when coupled with a Yogurt Bar on the side. Entering the store, you’ll be amazed by the numerous yogurt combinations offered: Biopan organic fresh yogurt, from 100% Greek cow milk from farms in Grevena, with 7 different special toppings to select: pomegranate, cranberries, orange couli, chocolate, hazelnuts, honey, linseed, red peppers(!) and more!
// Dinner //
Match the homemade cheese with some of the best wines from various areas of Greece. This spot sells Feta in any kind of form you may imagine: foam, bites, balls etc… Extra tip: keep some room for the dessert. You never know how much you can eat as everything looks so light and tasty!

Want more details? Well we loved the store’s aesthetics and especially the impressively long wooden dining table situated in the middle of all the fridges displaying dairy delicacies. But that’s not all; their package design deserves a shout-out as well: 157 + 173 designers were the ones behind Feta bar’s space configuration & unique packaging!
As these savvy entrepreneurs say, “Mia feta from Grevena hopes to conquer the world through the all-fresh and delicious Feta bars!”
We truly wish them all best!
